On December 5, 2022 Hubie Jones was honored by A Better City with the Norman B. Leventhal Award. Named in memory of A Better City’s founding director, the Norman B. Leventhal Excellence in City Building Awards recognize the leaders and innovators who have made significant contributions to Boston. Remarks from Mayor Wu, Rev. Mariama White-Hammond, Charlie Rose, and Mossik Hacobian honored Hubie as “the Commonwealth’s champion for issues of equity, social, economic and environmental justice”. Hubie’s remarks challenged Boston leaders to focus on our city’s human capital infrastructure by addressing inequity in our public schools. Other civic leaders and visionaries honored included Alan Altshuler, Mindy Lubber, and David Manfredi.
