Uniting Hearts, Transforming Lives: Celebrating the Family Led Stability Event

On Tuesday June 13th, 2023, at the Bruce Bolling Building in Roxbury, Boston’s Higher Ground celebrated reaching the milestone of housing 500 formerly homeless students with our  Family-Led Stable Initiative (FLSI). The event  brought together organizations, community leaders, and individuals who share our same vision and are dedicated to reducing family homelessness. Together, New Lease for Homeless Families, Project Hope, Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, Boston’s Higher Ground, Boston Housing Authority, the Boston Mayor’s Office of Housing and Boston Public Schools have embraced a shared mission to reduce family homelessness and uplift the health and educational outcomes for families served by our partner schools. The presence of each organization and other partners, highlights  the significance of our collective dedication and the power of collaboration. Special thank you to Superintendent Mary Skipper, Boston City Councilor At-Large Julia Mejia, Boston Housing Authority Administrator Kate Bennett, and FLSI Parent Tiffany Pina for your heartfelt words and stories.

The Family-Led Stable Initiative (FLSI) remains focused on the future, aiming to house 500  more students and families over the next three years, create a brighter future for students in need and improve educational and health outcomes. The unwavering commitment and steadfast support of our partners will continue to be crucial to the remarkable achievements thus far and in the future.

This inspiring gathering motivates us to continue our transformative work with even greater commitment. We are ready to accelerate our efforts and provide stable homes for more students and families in need. Together, we strive to create lasting change and uplift the lives of those affected by family homelessness.
